Lucas Matthews is a senior at Tulane University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Design degree. Originally from Palo Alto, California, Lucas has developed a strong interest in visual storytelling and the built environment through both academic study and personal exploration. His creative interests include digital prototyping, graphic design, and ideation sketching. In the fall of 2024, Lucas spent a semester in Barcelona, studying at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. There, he fully embraced Spanish culture, deepening his understanding of architecture and design from a global viewpoint. Following his time at Tulane, Lucas plans to pursue a career in industrial design or digital illustration. He hopes to merge his creative drive, technical skills, and problem-solving talents to produce work that connects with people and is of the highest quality. When Lucas is not designing, he loves to be in nature developing his passions for surfing, skiing, and mountain biking.
